This is a general-purpose 0.6/1kV low voltage power cable with a tinned copper conductor, XLPE insulation, and galvanized steel wire armor - our most widely applicable base model.

Tinned Copper Conductor

Holds up better than bare copper against oxidation, so it lasts longer in damp or salty conditions without really losing conductivity.

XLPE Insulation System

Cross-linked polyethylene with solid dielectric strength and stable mechanical performance - it's a pretty well-established material choice at this point in power cable manufacturing.

Galvanized Steel Wire Armor with Copper Earth Braid

The armor handles mechanical protection, and the earth braid handles clearing a ground fault fast - two separate jobs, each done by its own layer.

PVC/ST2 Sheathing

Used for both bedding and outer sheath. Easy to maintain, cost stays reasonable, and it's a fairly safe choice all around.
